Hello everyone! This looks like a great forum, we just gotta get some more people talkin'!

My name is Katharine and I'm a freelance writer. My husband and I have two cats, two dogs, a horse, and a partridge in a pear tree. All are rescues of some sort, and I'm looking forward to sharing their stories on this forum!

I also have two animal-related blogs. One is about my horse -- http://www.ponytalesblog.com. The other is an informational blog about feline hepatic lipidosis, or fatty liver, which I almost lost one of my cats to a few years back -- http://www.hepatic-lipidosis.com. Feel free to poke around and to learn more about me and my babies!

Hi Katherine! Nice to see you have rescues, I do too! 9 cats and several of them are special needs. One of mine, Missy, has had liver failure for 3 years now. She was on the verge of death and my wonderful vet has not only saved her life, but somehow miraculously cured her! He never thoguht it was possible to cure her liver failure, but it is finally gone! Of course, it has cost close to $15,000 to do so, but it is well worth every cent.

Wow -- good for you for having that kind of dedication to your cats! What kind of liver failure is it? Hepatic lipidosis is extremely curable so I'm guessing it wasn't that kind.
